NEW PROVIDENCE HIGH SCHOOL MEDIA CENTER ADDITION + RENOVATION

Settembrino Architects was hired to expanded the existing media center with a new addition and renovate the space to provide a state of the art media center that will be used for instructional space, professional development and meetings. The space is designed to be used for up to four instructional spaces at one time. It includes two collaboration media pods, two instructional spaces, a separate new room for instruction, professional development and a universal science lab. State of the art technology was also installed in the media center. A video wall with 9 screens was installed in the main media space. A podium, the stationary unit is used as storage for all equipment required for presentations. It also includes smartboard panel and the ability to use skype and teleconferencing. Power for the mobile kiosks are provided around the library at existing columns and at the exterior wall. Wireless microphones were installed to provide the ability to pick up a voice in the room, without holding microphone, and is able to separate the voice and also is voice controlled even in different areas of the media center. The video cameras installed provide the ability to record presentations and to video the audience for teleconferencing or distance learning.
