OCEAN COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE
SECURITY BUILDING ADDITION + RENOVATION

Settembrino Architects prepared a design for an addition and renovation to the security building at Ocean County College. The existing building’s entrance and reception areas do not provide adequate security and are not conducive to the daily operations of the department. Work will include the creation of a raised work platform, wall reconfiguration and minor flooring work. Additionally, a new door should be designed from the Security building into the new garage building.

A new 2,000 sf single story addition on the east side of the building features a new 2 bay garage connected to the security building which houses a new security vestibule and associated office and conference spaces for the entire campus security department. The west side of the building was renovated into a new crime scene lab to meet the needs of the criminal justice department. The renovated space contains a twenty-student classroom, a mock two-bedroom apartment, observation facility for faculty, operating restrooms, associated support space and circulation space. Additionally, a mock shooting range projection system will be installed inside the mock apartment.
