BOROUGH OF EMERSON
MUNICIPAL BUILDING ADDITION & RENOVATION

Settembrino Architects designed a New Police and Court/Council Chambers addition to the Borough of Emerson’s municipal building, as well as renovation to the existing building. As the Borough desired to save the iconic WPA Era Municipal Building, Settembrino Architects designed an addition that extended the architectural vocabulary and vernacular of the existing building while provide an aesthetic separation for the new structure. Both the new addition height and building envelope do not exceed or overshadow the current municipal building. By selecting an addition and renovation option rather than a new municipal, the Borough of Emerson was able to achieve more usable space for a less money while preserving the integrity of the existing municipal building.
