CONCEPT DESIGN

Settembrino Architects submitted a concept design to Rowan University for the Wilson Hall Dance Studio Expansion. On the site next to Wilson Hall’s existing loading dock, Settembrino Architects proposed an initial conceptual design that consisted of two dance studios, faculty offices, and support facilities to the dance studios such as locker rooms and storage. In this conceptual plan, there is a north side entry to the building which ties into the existing corridor running through Wilson Hall. This entry way is heavily used by students and visitors to the building after hours. There is a also a west entry which ties into the existing campus sidewalks. The curved walls along the west side match the architectural influences from Pfleeger Concert Hall. The window and mullion patterns match the existing adjacent buildings. The proposed exterior is brick to match the existing Wilson Hall as well as an Alucobond cap to match the existing adjacent buildings and heights.
