NORTHAMPTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE ALUMNI HALL RENOVATION
CONCEPT DESIGN
Settembrino Architects proposed the following concept design to create a new interior design at the Lobby Entry, the Entry to Hampton Winds restaurant, Bathrooms, Pre-function Space, Kitchen, and Conference Training Center.
At the Lobby Entry into Alumni Hall, it was proposed to change the finishes to make the lobby more inviting. Some of these changes would include replacing the existing flooring with a wood-look plank. Walls at the lobby would be painted to give a fresh new feel, however, the brick piers would remain the same to give some warmth to the space. The wood trusses would be painted black the wood in the recessed of the ceiling would be painted white. The walls separating the lobby from the Hampton Winds Restaurant would be removed for a more open flowing space into the dining room. Mullions, base, and trim in the dining room will be painted black to be more contemporary. The flooring from the lobby would flow into the dining room. The furniture and light fixtures would be revamped to be more contemporary.
The corridor leading to the Conference Training Center would be updated with new finishes to be more chic and streamline. Grab & Go and bar height furniture would be added into the space to make it a more lively space. The bathrooms would be replaced fixture for fixture and new wall and floor tile would be added for a fresh look. Faucets, sinks, accessories would be replaced. Equipment at cooking line in the kitchen would be updated per the school’s direction. The interior of the Conference Training would be refurbished with new finishes to match the look and feel of the Lobby and dining spaces. At the exterior of the dining room we propose to add some outdoor dining space under a new pergola.
